Live Performance of "Our Song"

I just uploaded this very cute performance of my younger sister Rachel singing Taylor Swift's "Our Song"! This was back in 2010 when she was 11 years old. Check it out! :)

Lobster Legs

I haven't posted in a few days, mainly because I have actually been quite busy. My boyfriend just opened a new CrossFit gym in Kingston (more on which I will be posting soon) so I spent a few days up there helping out with the grand opening! I felt that it was necessary to post about what a gorgeous day today was! So much so, that I thought I would do a throwback photo (or photos) to our recent Cuba trip!

Some (most) days I wish I was back there having fun and relaxing in the sun, but today for the first time it actually felt like I had been transported back in time to that beautiful place (minus my bestie and plus a ton of really good food)!! Tomorrow is supposed to be just as beautiful. Piece of advice: do not forget to put sun tan lotion on your legs!! I do it often, forgetting that is, and boy do they burn today!!!

Till next time,

xo Sarah

Go England Go!

Here is today's look which was inspired by the World Cup soccer match of England vs. Uruguay! (I think you can tell which team I was cheering for...) This lovely union jack skirt is from Primark and the top is from Ardene. Both pieces are very affordable. If you like this look please hype it below!

Summertime Sadness

It certainly does not feel like June. Too many rainy days and not enough sunshine! My tan is quickly fading as the days go on. Here is my ~rainy day~ look from today, please hype it below!
Items to note: Boots: My absolute favourite! I bought them from The Shoe Company four years ago for $50 and they have not let me down. Grey Jeans: From Forever 21, on sale for $10 (I can't remember exactly). Not the best quality, but I have had these for a while and they still look great. Definitely a good purchase, can't go wrong with $10 jeans!! Jean Jacket: This is actually my sister's but I like wearing it because it fits a bit looser on me so it gives a very relaxed feel to the outfit. I am pretty sure it was around $50 and it is from ZARA.

MMVA's Look

This was my *pre-glam* look for the MMVA's afterparty on Sunday night! I wanted to be as comfy as possible but also look chic, so I opted for a romper! Please hype this look below :)
The romper is from GUESS? and was a very good investment, as I have worn it SO many times. Perfect for a night on the town, or for a sunny afternoon, and you can change it up by switching in different belts! The cheetah belt is from Forever 21. This is another item in my closet which has gotten a lot of use. I always like adding in a little print whenever possible, so this makes a great addition to any simple outfit. Finally, the heels are madden girl and were on sale for $40 at The Shoe Company. I must say, they were pretty comfy considering I did a ton of walking all night. I figured wearing "madden girl" was fitting, since the award show was being hosted by Kendall and Kylie Jenner!

Post-MMVA's

Yesterday evening I went to the MMVA's after party at muzik nightclub in Toronto, hosted by Khloe Kardshian, or well.. it was supposed to be. The hostess of the mostess did not even show up! This really frustrated me because I'm a huge fan of Khloe and she lost major points in my books. It just ain't cool. I mean I literally wasn't allowed to sit anywhere the entire night because apparently sitting is only for celebrities (unless you count the bathroom stall, but believe me you do not wanna sit in those babies) and the damn celebrities can't even show up!

This is moving in the "rant" direction but seriously the night was unfortunately pretty awful. It was $20 just to get into the event and drinks were $7.50 minimum. Mind you, it is Toronto, that I understand, but we aren't all millionaires like the celebs showing up! *or not in this case* I was impressed with the club overall, it's huge and had a TON of staff (which I thought was a bit excessive to be honest) who were all very friendly for the most part.

A few celebs who did show up were the cast of Degrassi, who all looked ravishing in their MMVA's attire. I was able to chat with Luke Bilyk and I must say he is such a nice guy! Sweet as can be and even offered to take a photo with me (I will post this tomorrow). I also met Sara Fischer briefly as she was exiting the club, again, a super friendly gal.

I guess there's always gonna be pits and peaks for any day, night, event, trip, whatever it may be, and we have to take it for what it is and be grateful we were even given the opportunity in the first place! Learn from our mistakes, and move forward. It was definitely a night I won't forget- more for the wrong reasons than right- but I eagerly anticipate next year's MMVA's and I hope I will actually be able to watch the show this time!

Hair Tutorial: Curling your hair using a straightener

Here is a tutorial video I made on how to curl your hair using a straightener (aka flat iron). This is how I typically style my hair, and it is super quick and easy once you get the hang of it! I hope you watch it and enjoy!!

Pretty Little Liars Premiere

So last night ABC hosted one of the most highly anticipated television premieres of the summer, Pretty Little Liars. Although entertaining, I found it to be extremely disappointing. As has been the case for the past few seasons with this show, the episode was predictable. *SPOILER ALERT* Yes we know Ezra is alive, yes we know he will tell us who A is, yes we know Mona is not so good after all, yes we know Alison is hiding information from the girls... Besides Hannah's humour, I am not entirely sure why I continue to watch the show (Okay, I know the answer, because I am obsessed/borderline addicted to it.. but still!). The girls continue to get more and more naive as the seasons go on. Really, you think you are one step ahead of A? REALLY??!! Speaking of A, was I the only one who thought that the whole scene with the weird gang of A's on the playground surrounding the girls was totally unnecessary? I mean, it was just plain weird. So now that Shauna is dead, all is apparently good in Rosewood and Alison can finally return. Not like your best friend just murdered someone or anything. The girls' way of thinking is just bizarre. One thing I will be looking forward to is the storyline between the police officer and Ezra, now that he knows Ezra is involved with the girls. These two men seem to be the only intelligent characters on this show (and both aren't so hard on the eyes either, might I add). I hope for all the viewers' sakes, that this season picks up and we really start getting some answers. Regardless, I will still be a fan of the show, whether I want to or not. My dad's only comment while watching the show with us last night was, "Are those two blonde girls sisters?" hahaha

Graduation Day

I haven't posted in a few days because during my time away from blogging, I was busy graduating!! I was reluctant at first to even attend my graduation, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the ceremony. The whole day was superbly organized, and the speeches given at the ceremony were short, sweet, and inspiring! I can now proudly say I am a Chemical Engineering Graduate from Queen's University!! WOOHOO! Some pictures of the event are posted below:

Family shot before the ceremony!

The convocation ceremony inside Grant Hall.

Storm and I after the ceremony. I am officially a graduate!

Nice shot- like father like daughter.

A very happy graduate!

 Celebratory drinks, as always!

MMVA Backstage Correspondent 2014

I can't believe it is already June!! One of the most exciting things for me that happens in June is the Much Music Video Awards. This year it will be on June 15th, and is being co-hosted by Kendall and Kylie Jenner! This alone has made me more excited than ever- I'm a big fan of the Jenner girls. I am also excited because I recently applied to be the Backstage Correspondent for this year's award show, and it would be a dream come true if I were to get it! As part of the application process, I had to create a video showing off my skills and explaining why I would be great for the position. I tried to keep it short and sweet, and I hope that the panel can see how badly I want it! As always, feel free to give any feedback on the video below! :)

mystique

Today's outfit of the day! This gorgeous jumpsuit is from Urban Planet and is totally affordable. I love the beautiful blue colour of it (it reminds me of Mystique from X-men, hence, the title of this post hehe). I paired it with a cheetah belt from Forever 21 to throw a bit of a print in there. Finally, the shoes were on sale from The Shoe Company!
If you like this look, please hype it!
